Staff Bios - Matt 'Zombie' Manning

Zombie grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and still lives there today. Zombie's first taste of wrestling was watching Roy Shire's Big Time Wrestling on TV in 1979. Zombie attended pretty much all of the shows at the Cow Palace from 1979 to the territory shutting down in 1981. Zombie continued to follow the AWA and WWF which moved into the Bay Area in the early 80's. During the cable TV BOOM in the mid 80's, Zombie started to watch Bill Watts Mid South UWF and Crockett's NWA. Zombie became involved in the local indy scene in early 1997 with the APW promotion in Hayward, CA. Zombie was lucky enough to see a great crop of indy workers like Michael Modest, Donovan Morgan, Robert Thompson, Vic Grimes, the late Crash Holly, Vinny Massaro, and Chris Daniels among others. Zombie disappeared from the local scene for a while, but reemerged in 2000 at the APW King Of The Indies.

Zombie has followed indie promotions from the east coast to the west coast and pretty much everything in between. He decided to use the contacts that he has made in the world of indy wrestling by starting an internet radio show. In September of 2007, Rubber Guard Radio was born. Zombie has had over 120 guests on his show. His guest list encompasses a wide spectrum of people - from former WWE talent to MMA fighters to big name indy wrestlers. Rubber Guard Radio, however, is just not about wrestling. We also cover MMA and pretty much any hot topic that is going on at the time. In all honesty, you just never know what will come out of the mouth of a loose cannon like "Zombie" Matt Manning!
