Mike Poulin's TNA Impact Recap for June 10th, 2010

6/10/10 TNA Impact Recap

We start the show with AJ Styles on the microphone with the new group of he Kazarian, Wolfe, and Beer Money. Styles mentions the Four Horsemen and talks about the big 8 man tag. Jay Lethal comes out and does a decent impersonation of Ric Flair and introduces two of his partners Abyss and MR ANDERSON and we get a brief 4 on 3 brawl until Jeff Hardy comes out and clears the heels out of the ring and we have our main event.

Match 1

Brian Kendrick beat Homicide in 6 minutes while Doug Williams did commentary.

We go backstage to find Brother Ray and Jesse Neal being pulled apart.

Ink Inc are in the ring now with Jesse Neal on the microphone calling out Brother Ray. Brother Ray gets the microphone and accuses Neal of having a big head and basically calls Neal a failure. Shannon Moore gets the microphone and calls Brother Ray a bully and the Biggest douchebag on the planet wow Bold Statement from a guy with poorly gelled hair. D-Von gets the microphone and says that Jesse gets a pass because they trained him and tells Brother Ray to basically stop worrying about Jesse Neal.

We go backstage to Christy Hemme who is with TNA World Champion Rob Van Dam. Sting jumps RVD during this segment and basically chokes the fuck out of him with a baseball bat.

Matt Morgan comes to the ring and demands to know who his tag team partner is. Hulk Hogan comes out and calls Morgan a crybaby and a backstabber. Hogan says that since Morgan wants to know who his partner and it's HERNANDEZ. Returning from an injury that was supposedly supposed to end his career and that last sentence was bad grammar. Hernandez beats the ever living shit out of Morgan and chokes him out with his shirt and just beats him down and then the Band comes out and Eric Young pins Matt Morgan and Morgan is carted off. There's a couple of problems here. First one being that there was supposed to be a tag titles wasn't Morgan supposed to get the shot at Slammiversry. Also the announcers as he was being carted off said that Morgan would be facing Hernandez. Now I know that this was taped almost a month ago at this point but if you wanted to keep kayfabe alive how the fuck would Morgan be physically ready or medically cleared to face Hernandez at the PPV which is 3 fucking days away.

Match 2

Kurt Angle Pinned Amazing Red in about 4 minutes with an Olympic Slam. Fun little match not the squash I was expecting but it was fun.

Slammiversary video package essentially running down the big matches on the card.

RVD vs Sting. Wow they gave King of the Mountain for this shitty main event.

ANDERSON/Hardy vs Beer Money. Could be good four good wrestlers and 3 guys that know the tag team scene like a book.

Angle vs Kazarian should be one of the better matches on the card as Angle looks to climb back to the title

Styles vs Lethal also should be good seems weird to see this on a TNA PPV though.

Abyss vs Desmond Wolfe in a Monster's Ball Match. Has Nigel err I mean Wolfe ever been in any semblance of a Hardcore Match can somebody tell me please.

Also not mentioned but

Williams vs Kendrick a sleeper match and not in a bad way this could be good.

Roxxi vs Madison Rayne for the Knockouts Title. Could be decent but the winner is definitely getting fed to Rosie Lottalove.

Brother Ray vs Jesse Neal. Don't care not interested in the storyline.

Hernandez vs Matt Morgan, Could be good a month from now.

Main Event

AJ Styles Desmond Wolfe and Beer Money beat Abyss Jeff Hardy Jay Lethal and MR ANDERSON in a decent 12 minute match with Styles pinning Lethal in the end with the Styles Clash. I really hope this means Lethal goes over on Sunday. Also during the match we saw some dissension between Desmond Wolfe and Chelsea when Chelsea refused to give Wolfe the steel chair so hopefully Chelsea isn't swerving but I have this bad feeling she is.

We go backstage to find Sting attacking RVD wow didn't we see this earlier in the show. Sting basically takes RVD through every part of the backstage area and throws him in to whatever he can find. Sting and RVD brawl through the Impact Zone and in the end it's Sting standing over RVD and giving him back the belt that he stole saying this belt is yours until SUNDAY.

A decent show if you like lots of talking. The last two matches were pretty decent and the main event seems to set up a lot of faces winning at Slammiversary which is fine I guess depending on how it's done. Slammiversary from an undercard prospective looks fairly strong but the main event is going to bring it down in my opinion.
