WWE     Superstars

Written by Stevie J

We'll be recapping WWE Superstars on WGN tonight as we do every Thursday night live at 8 PM EST, 7 Central. When the recap begins hit F5 or refresh as often as you like for live updates! Here's what's on tap for tonight's show. (WWE)

* MVP and Chris Masters vs. The Dudebusters
* JTG vs. Chavo Guerrero
* Yoshi Tatsu vs. Primo
* The Usos vs. The Hart Dynasty

"The champ, is here!" Thanks Cena. (I'd still rather have J.R.) Do you feel INVINCIBLE tonight? Then it's time for WWE Superstars on WGN!

* MVP and Chris Masters vs. The Dudebusters

MVP and Masters make their way to the ring completely sans any WWE commentary, accompanied by NXT rookie Percy Watson. Josh Mathews finally chimes in at the two minute mark and has Matt Striker seated next to him with a 7-Eleven SummerSlam Slurpee. The Dudes who Bust Dudes are out next. Striker says they had an exciting week watching The Last Airbender and eating brunch among other things. MVP starts the match off working with the green Buster (Trent Berreta). Chris Masters tags in and works over the left arm before taking several forearms to the throat. Cover for 2. Masters chops the hell out of him but the purple Buster (Caylen Croft) comes in on a blind tag. The two proceed to take turns cutting off the ring and beating Masters down while MVP waits patiently on the apron and Watson waits less patiently on the outside. MVP is holding the tag rope and leaning as far into the ring as he legally can while the heels work on Masters' left knee. Masters catapults Berreta into the corner to get free and gives the hot tag to MVP. MVP drops the ballin' elbow on Croft before his partner makes the save. Masters throws Berreta out and Croft nearly gets a roll up for three, but MVP responds with the Play of the Day to finish the match. WINNERS: MASTERS & MVP. M&M? Whatever. Decent opening match.

Matt Striker reminds us after commercial that voting for NXT is open now on WWE.com. Time for our next match!

* JTG vs. Chavo Guerrero

JTG comes out first as Striker sells on the idea he "brings excitement and exuberance" to the WWE Universe. Chavo comes out to piped in crowd heat. JTG hits a go behind right away, Chavo fights out with forearms, JTG does a deep arm drag and a leg drop to the back of Chavo's head for one. Chavo trips him into the turnbuckle and pummels his head from behind. Striker sells us on WWE's tour of China next month like any of us are going to be at those shows, but whatever. JTG gets on a roll again and gets a two count. Mathews talks about JTG's bling bling pants and says "I do my research" for the second time tonight. Chavo hits a big brainbuster suplex and takes control. Chavo hits the Frogsplash off the top rope moments later for the three count. WINNER: CHAVO GUERRERO. Commercial.

DID YOU KNOW? The WWE Video Library has over 100K hours of footage. Yes actually I did know, but thanks for the reminder. That tidbit is followed a video package putting over the Nexus' recent reign of terror on Monday Night Raw.

* Yoshi Tatsu vs. Primo

We're joined by Michael Cole and Jerry 'The King' Lawler, and the latter also has his own 7-Eleven Slurpee. Yoshi comes out first. As Primo comes out I'm thinking that the older he gets the more he looks like his brother Carlito. Piped in boos make it seem like the crowd really hates him as a heel. Tatsu gets a minor pop as a face by jumping up and down and screaming. Tatsu takes the left arm to start but Primo hooks the ropes. Primo responds with a spinning leg sweep and covers for 1. Back and forth we go until Primo rolls out and eats a sliding kick to the outside. Tatsu tries to land on the apron put Primo sweeps and he lands hard on the canvas. Cole promises us highlights from the WWE Money in the Bank PPV later on in the show. Tatsu eats a missle dropkick and goes down hard but gets a hand on the ropes before 3. Tatsu makes his trademark comeback with kicks. Carlito takes control again. Lawler mocks Tatsu's accent. Tatsu goes top rope. Primo crotches him and hits a backcracker in the corner for three. WINNER: PRIMO COLON. Commercial. Post-MITB Raw Rebound after the break focused on John Cena's feud with Nexus. Lawler and Cole run down the SummerSlam card afterward including the Nexus vs. Cena 7-on-7 and Sheamus vs. Orton.

* The Hart Dynasty {C} vs. The Usos (non-title match)

Hart Dynasty come out at 8:42 PM EST before we go to another commercial. As you would expect Natalya accompanies the faces and Tamina accompanies the heels. Jay Uso and David Hart Smith start the match off. (Key tip for viewers - Jay Uso is the one who wears traditional wrestling trunks and Jimmy Uso's outfit goes all the way down to his ankles.) Jay makes a comeback with forearms until Smith cuts him off with a running knee, hangs him in the Tree of Woe, and tags in Kidd for a dropkick to the face in the corner for two. Kidd immediately goes for an armbar submission and asks the ref to check if Jay gives up. Jimmy blind tags when Kidd is charged into the corner and scoop slams Kidd with authority. Natalya pounds on the mat to encourage the crowd. Kidd nearly gets a roll-up for three but misses on a dropkick. He gets Jimmy on a second one when he runs the rpopes. Leg drop for 2. Jimmy hits a headbutt. Jay makes a blind tag but the Harts dump both Usos outside the ring to send us to a commercial break.

I'd like to remind readers as we come back from commercial that tonight's Thursday Night AMP features NECW's own Sheldon Goldberg! Join us in the AngryMarks chat at 10 PM EST. Tyson Kidd is being worked over by Jimmy Uso as we come back but Kidd kicks him all the way out of the ring then jumps to the apron. He makes an ill-advised run at the Usos, who catch him and drop him chest first on the barricade afterward. Kidd just barely makes it back into the ring before the 10 count, and Jimmy is all over him right away for a near fall. Jay tags in and they hit a double team elbow for 2. Scoop slam with authority. Lawler says that Tamina has been badmouthing Hart Dynasty for the entire match. Lawler is really on his own shit tonight though - he's debating with himself whether or not it's appropriate to call Natalya 'Nattie' for short. The Usos continue to double team Kidd as we run up on the top of the hour. Nattie Neidhart desperately wants Kidd to tag out. Double clothesline! That should be the set-up for the hot tag. Sure enough here comes DH Smith and Jay, and Smith is cleaning house with power moves. Smith goes for a Sharpshooter, Tamina tries to distract him, and natalya kicks her butt. Kidd tags in for a double team Hart Attack and the match is over! WINNERS: THE HART DYNASTY. That's it for WWE Superstars tonight!
