With only three days to go before WrestleMania 26 there are only two more chances for WWE to plug the big show - WWE Superstars on WGN and Friday Night Smackdown! Be sure to join us for the latter tomorrow night at 8 PM EST, and as usual the Superstars recap begins tonight at 8 PM EST - just hit F5 or refresh in progress for all the latest updates. Be sure to join us afterwards for Thursday Night AMP at our new start time of 10 PM EST with special guest Derek Burgan!

JTG (w/ Shad Gaspard)  vs. CM Punk (w/ Luke Gallows & Serena Deeb)

Is that Serena Deeb's head I see on a poster in the background? No, it's Batista, sorry, looked pretty close though with the sunglasses on. Punk immediately backs JTG into the corner and beats him down like a rented mule, referee pulls him back, Punk breaks but comes right back to lay on more pain. Punk tries to whip JTG out of the corner, gets reverses, JTG charges, Punk throws him over the top rope and knocks him off the apron. Punk goes out to lay on some kicks and punches, Shad Gespard and Luke Gallows come over to make sure both sides stay clean. Punk rolls JTG back into the ring, but not before hanging him over the apron and giving him a Straight Edge Kneelift to the back!

Punk rolls back into the ring and applies a reverse chinlock, JTG fights his way back up, breaks loose, bounces off the ropes a few times and hits a shoulder block, clothesline and a dropkick. Punk goes off into the corner, JTG rolls the dice runs over to the corner and nails the Mug Shot, goes for the cover, two count. BOth men on their feet, throwing punches, Punk shoves JTG off to the ropes, JTG back with an uppercut, cover and a two count. JTG whips Punk off the ropes, irish whip reversal, JTG tries for a cross-body block but Punk ducks it and JTG eats the mat. Punk follows up with the Muay Thai kneelift in the corner, the bulldog, and it's a GTS for JTG followed by a 1-2-3.

WINNER: CM Punk. Nice opening match for CM Punk as he rolls into WrestleMania 26 to face Rey Mysterio, Jr.

We take a commercial, come back to run down this week's WrestleMania events in Phoenix, run a highlight reel for Undertaker/HBK II, then take another commercial, come back with a highlight reel for Edge/Jericho. And then a promo for HBK's new DVD collection. Then another commercial break. And ANOTHER highlight reel, for Hart/McMahon.

Seriously, was there even a point to tape matches for tonight? We've spent nearly a half hour of promos for WrestleMania. Which is cool. But if this was just going to be a highlight reel, I could have skipped this, because we've already seen all of these. I'll come back when we actually get our MATCH that was supposed to be "next" 30 mins ago.

Rey Mysterio, Jr. vs. Tyson Kidd (w/ David Hart-Smith & Natalya Neidhardt)

Kids starts off with an armbar, Mysteiro rolls out of it and applies a legbar, Kidd escapes and goes for a key lock submission on the arm, but Mysteiro reverses it into an ankle lock, and Kidd desides to escape to the ropes and start this over again. Kidd approaches with a kick to the midsection and a wristlock, Mysterio counters with a few kicks to the shin, but Kidd holds his ground and forces Mysterio to the ground with the wristlocks, and tries for a pair of pin attempts. Mysterio is able to throw Kidd off, bounces off the ropes, reversal, Kidd goes for a cross-body block and a pin attempt. Kidd nails Mysterio with a forearm shot, followed up with a headbutt into the turnbuckle. Kidd whips Mysteiro off the ropes, Mysterio slides underneath his legs, holds onto the ropes and uses it to kick Kidd, then pulls him into the ropes. Mysterio tries for the 6-1-9, David Hart-Smith distracts the referee, and Natalya Neidhart trips Mysterio. Mysterio recovers, Kidd and DHS on the outside, Mysterio tries to hit a seated senton on Kidd, he ducks it and Mysterio hits DHS with it instead. Kidd picks up Mysterio and rams him back-first into the ringside barrier and we go to commercial.

Back in the ring Kidd has a reverse chinlock on Mysterio, Mysterio fights his way off, goes into a corner, and Kidd stomps a mudhole in his chest until the referee breaks. Kid whips him to the opposite corner, Mysterio stops himself and then drop toe holds Kidd into the middle turnbuckle. Mysterio slingshots back in for a cross-body block, Kidd meets him with a pair of knees to the chest in mid-air. OUCH. Kidd applies a modified abdominal stretch from the mat, grinding his elbow into Mysterio's ribs. Did Matt Striker just call Mysterio "the No-Limit Soldier"? Wow, what a throwback reference. Mysterio works his way up to his feet, punches Kidd int he head to breka, Kidd counters with a knee to the midsection, whips Mysterio off the ropes, picks him up with one-hand and slams him chest-first to the mat.

Mysterio rolls to the outside, Kidd follows up with an elbow drop to the head from the apron, rolls Mysterio back into the ring. Kidd goes back to an armbar, tries for a Pump Handle Slam, then converts it into a kneelift into the chest, Mysterio crumples up in pain as Kidd tries to pin him, two count. Kidd chokes Mysterio on the bottom rope, then by the boot in the corner. Mysterio gets back to his feet and they trade punches and kicks, Kidd tries for a belly-to-back suplex, but Mystero converts it into an inverted bulldog-style DDT! Both men take their time getting to their feet, Mysterio tries to bounce off the ropes, Kidd cuts him off with a knee to the midsection and throws him through the ropes. Referee stops Kidd from going after him, but Neidhardt attacks from behind, and Kidd follows up with a baseball slide dropkick under the ropes. Kidd goes out and whips Mysterio into the ringside barrier, throws him back in the ring, Kidd nails the Springboard Blockbuster from the top rope, covers, one... two... KICKOUT!

Kidd can't believe he can't get the pin. Kidd stretches Mysterio out, goes to the top turnbuckle, goes for a split-legged monsault but he slips off the ropes! Mysterio covers and hits a pair of clotheslines, ducks one from Kidd and springboards off the ropes with a cross-body block of his own, two count as Kidd kicks out. Mysterio puts Kidd in the corner, kick the ribs, whip out of the corner gets reversed, Kidd leapfrogs over Mysterio, tries for a roll-up, Mysterio kicks out of it and nails a dropkick to the face! Mysterio covers, two count again. Mysterio takes a minute to suck up some wind as the fans cheer for him. Kidd gets to his feet, reverse kick to the midsection, picks up Mysterio, Mysterio slips out, tries to bounce off the ropes, Kidd picks him up and drops Mysterio neck-first over the ropes. Kidd goes to the outside, springboards off the top rope with a HUGE elbow drop that connects, Kidd covers, STILL only gets a two count! Kidd picks up Mysteiro, a trio of knees to the chest, throws Mysterio into the ropes and nails him in the midsection with a shoulder block. Kidd goes again, but Mysterio kicks him in the face, connects with a reverse elbow, then a Rewind 'Rana off the middle turnbuckle that leads into the 6-1-9, the diving headbutt from the top rope slingshot and we're done!

WINNER: Rey Mysterio, Jr.  Wow, I honestly don't believe I've seen a better match on WWE television in a long time, this one was really great! It even left me with the belief that Tyson Kidd is a solid midcarder and possible JTTS, everything looked fresh! And that's it for WWE Superstars tonight!
